Edward Jerry Tallach (Edward J. Tallach, Edward Tallach, Ed Tallach) is the President of Edward Motor Company, a family-owned and operated automobile dealership that the Tallach family originated in 1975. Edward Motor Company was a franchised Chrysler Corporation dealer in both Hot Springs and Magnolia, Arkansas, past recipient of the prestigious Chrysler Corporation 5-Star Dealer Award and are currently is engaged in pre-owned vehicle sales in Hot Springs, Ark.

Prior to moving to Hot Springs in 1970, Tallach was a graduate of athletics powerhouse J. Sterling Morton High School in Berwyn-Cicero, Ill. where he earned varsity letters in football, wrestling and golf and was recently honored as the first golfer ever inducted into the J. Sterling Morton Hall of Fame. He was a Northern Illinois junior champion before attending North Central College in Naperville, Ill., earning an undergraduate degree in biology and physical education and varsity letters as quarterback of the football team and captain of the 1967 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championship golf team. He qualified for two NAIA and one NCAA National Collegiate Golf championship while at North Central.

He was a multiple amateur golf champion in the Midwest in the 1960s and an Illinois State Amateur Finalist in 1967. He was the 1969 U.S. Open qualifying medalist as an amateur and was a candidate for the USGA’s Walker Cup team that year.

Tallach would later serve as captain of Team Arkansas in the Arkansas and Mid-South Cup and worked with 1955 U.S. Open champion Jack Fleck as a caddie and at Fleck’s Lil’ Bit a Heaven Golf Club in Magazine. He is also an Arkansas State Golf Association Senior Amateur Champion.

A 35-year Arkansas Activities Association Football Official, Tallach served on the boards of the Hot Springs Boys Club, the Arkansas Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce and Salvation Army of Hot Springs and is a former member of the Rotary Club of Hot Springs National Park. He also served as vice president of the Arkansas Automobile Dealers Association, board member of the Southern Dodge Dealers Association and executive board member of the Chrysler Plymouth Advertising Association.

He resides in Hot Springs, Arkansas, with his wife, Ellen (Kern) Tallach and has three children – Thomas Grant Tallach of Stephenville, Tex., Timothy Michael Tallach of Smyrna, Ga. and Sharon Tallach Vogelpohl of Little Rock, Arkansas – and seven grandchildren.
